Solution Brief – Delivering high bandwidth data-streams, sensor and simulation data to validated modern ECUs

Safety and ADAS features leading up to Autonomous Driving (AD) need to be tested thoroughly so the end-user can utilize its functionality with confidence. Test engineers need to inject errors along the whole V&V workflow, to make sure that the algorithms under development will be able to properly handle fault situations and act accordingly (fail-safe, fail-operational). As the sensor to algorithm chain is quite complex, it is necessary to simulate and inject faults at any stage while leveraging and combining synthetic and recorded data streams, to accelerate development and increase coverage.

This solution brief describes the partnership between NI and Ansys to build a system that integrates high bandwidth data-streams from data repositories, live sensors and simulation tools and the injection of sensor faults so that Modern ECUs can be tested at the level required for their growing autonomy capabilities.
