NI FieldDAQ How To Series

NI FieldDAQ: Measurement Performance in Extreme Conditions

NI FieldDAQ is a data acquisition device designed for harsh environments including -40C to 85C operating temperatures, 100g shock, 10 gRMS vibration, and IP65/67 ratings for dustproof and waterproof measurements. FieldDAQ devices are available for voltage, accelerometer, strain gages, load cells, and thermocouples. They communicate over Ethernet and can synchronize measurements across multiple devices using the built-in TSN synchronization technology.

How to setup NI FieldDAQ hardware with power and Ethernet

This video shows everything you need to start taking measurements with your NI FieldDAQ device including power supply, wiring accessories, Ethernet cable, and installed NI DAQmx driver software.

How to connect load cells, accelerometers, or voltage signals to NI FieldDAQ with M12 connectors

There are multiple ways to connect load cells, strain gages, accelerometers, microphones, and voltage signals to NI FieldDAQ. This video shows the accessories available for making waterproof sensor connections and what it looks like to begin building a sensor connection with a field servicable connector accessory for M12 connections. (sold separately)

How to connect waterproof M12 caps to unused channels on NI FieldDAQ

NI FieldDAQ connection ports that don’t have a power cable, Ethernet cable, or signal cable, need to have M12 caps installed to maintain IP65/67 water- and dust-proof ratings. This video shows how to install the M12 caps on a FieldDAQ device.

How to mount NI FieldDAQ on DIN rail

The DIN rail kit for NI FieldDAQ includes a DIN rail clip, screws, and mouting plate. This video shows how to mount NI FieldDAQ devices to a DIN rail using the DIN rail kit. DIN rail kit sold separately.
